Microsoft has formed a number of divisions within their corporate entity.  One division is based in Fargo, North Dakota.  Microsoft has the second highest brand recognition in the world, only behind Coca-Cola.  They have taken over the personal productivity market with their applications such as Word, Excel, Access and Front Page.  They have been able to bundle these products into the Microsoft Office Suite and have made the once ever-so-popular Word Perfect application almost obsolete.  Microsoft has every intention of promoting their Business Solutions division in the same manner and will certainly become a front-runner in the accounting and business application market.

Why did Snowbird Systems start a Business Solutions Practice?  Our Financial Assistant System (FAS) has served many customers needs for many years.  It is running on many legacy systems throughout the United States and in some foreign countries.  We will continue to make improvements and develop customization for clients who wish to use it on legacy hardware.  However, we have found that there are systems with comparable features already written for the environment known as Graphical User Interface (GUI) made enormously popular by Microsoft Windows.  Rather than re-invent the wheel, we are launching Snowbird Systems into the Microsoft family to provide our current and future customers with the outstanding Microsoft Business Solution product line.  Snowbird will be able to sell, support and customize the programs provided by this division. 

With Microsoft performing the research and development of new products we felt we would be able to provide a better long term solution for both old and new customers alike.  We have had to prove to the Microsoft Business Solutions division that we are capable.  We have several people enrolled in the Certified Professional Program (CPP).  Under this program we have been certified in the Foundations of the Microsoft SQL Server, Installation and Configuration, Solomon Financials, Distribution Series, Financial Reporting, Customization Manager, and Tools for Visual Basic.

What do these certifications mean to you as a customer or prospect of our Business Solutions Practice?  They mean that we have acquired the training and received the education to sell, support and customize the world-renowned Microsoft applications.  They mean we have the means to interface our legacy programs to the new GUI environment.  They mean we can provide a migration plan and a smooth transition for existing customers who want to take advantage of the new accounting systems without having to abandon the investment made in customizing solutions writing for legacy systems.  And, they mean new prospects can select Snowbird Systems as their solutions provider and tap into the knowledge and experience we have obtained over the past 25 years.
