g@lleri@-E.com Who Makes g@lleri@-E Two decades ago, Mike Leathers started Snowbird Systems, the founding company of g@lleri@-E. Snowbird began its debut with a customized accounting software package, then upgraded to inventory and warehouse control systems. We now offer these systems, plus bar coding, data connectivity, and internet Web services. Web services are provided by the subsidiary company, g@lleri@-E. Please allow us to introduce ourselves individually, because at g@lleri@-E we believe in your individuality. Every company has a different need and we hope to meet your individual needs. Making Introductions Mike Leathers, the president and founder of Snowbird Systems, began his computer career in 1968 as an application maintenance programmer for the United States Air Force. Before he completed his term with the Air Force, Mike obtained his Masters Degree in Computer Science at FIT, graduating number one in his class. He then worked as a systems programmer for Harris Corporation, where his 15 member team developed the first cathode ray tube photo typesetter that was computer controlled. This experience moved him to NCR as a programmer for a group that was developing a new commercial computer with a language called COBOL. Marketing to and supporting the end user interested Mike, and led him to a system engineering position in 1976 with Data General. He gained national recognition after becoming involved with the introduction of a new line of computer systems targeted strictly for the commercial user. The internal code name for the project was Snowbird. After installing the first of the new systems, Mike resigned from Data General in order to form Snowbird Systems. He is still an active part of Snowbird. Carl Carstenson heads up the team of programmers. Carl attended a nine month technical school for programming and accounting in 1979. He joined Snowbird Systems in October of 1981. As a senior programmer, Carl is proficient in many computer languages, including COBOL, C++, Perl, BASIC, and Assembly languages. Carl's technical background enables him to repair hardware, design communication systems, and support different types of hardware, including radio frequency and bar code equipment. Carl is a whiz with Unix and is a great asset to our system design area. Our office manager, Kay Kuebel graduated from The University of Texas in 1995 with a degree in Marketing and a minor in CIS. Kay's hobby in the Internet and programming was developed at Snowbird Systems. She has been able to develop pages and create marking strategies for the g@lleri@-E development. Sales and Marketing, Mark Lehmann graduated from Texas A&M in 1972. His work within the electronic industry includes research and design on navigation systems, development of one of the first ultrasound heart monitors and development of measurement while drilling systems. Mark was 3rd in the nation as a systems engineer for Motorola VME systems. He writes programs in assembly language, basic, Visual Basic and Intermec reader language for data collection. Mark has years of experience as a manager of information services for a large electronic firm, where he gathered experience with warehouse management, inventory techniques, point of sale terminals and RF data collection. Mark also knows the ins and outs of the Internet. He has been with Snowbird Systems as a systems engineer/salesman since 1995 and has been working with Snowbird Systems since 1990. Marketing has always been a strong position for Amanda McCann. She graduated in 1994 with her Bachelors of Marketing and in 1995 with her MBA. She has set high standards for marketing materials and for adding innovative design and products to g@lleri@-E. During 1995 and 1996, she owned a custom web page design company, On Course. With her understanding of the internet and the design background, she has been a key player in developing the g@lleri@-E solution. |
